These coloured shots I will be sure to use if I want to make this an actual trailer as well as adding in more frames to express my shots that are from my animatic.

Promotional Output - 1

For my promotional output I wanted to create a trailer for my Series Silent Lights. In the trailer I wanted to show off Slades Telekinetic powers and so I show a scene of him being confronted by other participants of his car races. They confront him telling him that they think that he cheated in the race by winning it with a modification in his car. Slade ignores them and so one of them proceeds to attack him only to be pushed away by his power.

I also wanted to include shots from another scene where Slade is attacked by a evil Alien in his home one night. At the end of this scene, he is supposed to have been saved after a fight with the Alien by the Aliens that are trying to help him.

I started coloring my backgrounds that im just going to animate straight over the top. 

17/10/2016 - Capstone

My animatic is complete, I just need to put it into after effects now and put in the time codes. The scene will end with Slade and the creature charging head on at each other and clashing creating a powerful energy field.

I am going to create some quick style guides before I go into animating it so I can get an idea of what colors to use.

13/10/2016 - Capstone

Iv had to add in a few more shots that were not in my story board to make everything flow better and tell the story better (as well as ending it sooner than anticipated) I now just have one shot left to do and it will be a shot of Slade and the creature charging toward eachother and the scene will cut as theyre about to clash. This was suggested to me by Mike. I will begin my rough animation very soon.

Slade is whacked into the wall by the Lizard creature. He falls to his knees and brushes off the ruble. 

10/10/2016 - Capstone

I have started running out of time to complete my animatic so I have decided to cut it short and end it in the middle of the fight sequence. This means I have had to change some of the shots and add some new ones so that it does not just end abruptly in the middle of the fight.


This is what I have completed so far and I will only be adding in 1 more shot to end this so I can start animating it as soon as possible.

08/09/2016 - Capstone

I have started work on my animatic and I have reached shot 6 and started on shot 7. Some of the challenges I have faced have been trying to get Slade drawn on model. I think to over come this I will take the best drawings of him and then use them to correct the other drawings of him in other shots ( for example in shot 5 he isnt drawn as well as I drew him in shot 6). I think what has been working well for me is that I knew exactly what i wanted to happen in this scene from the start to the very ending, I just had trouble thinking of how I wanted to show it in the shots at first.  Now that I know exactly how I want the shots and camera angles, The animatic wont take long to finish even though I am behind schedule for it.
